Remember that you have intrinsic value simply by the fact that you exist. Even if you feel worthless, you always have potential just by being alive. You don’t have to win awards or be the best at what you do to have value. Even making it through the day or making a friend smile is something to be proud of.

Please don’t tell me I’m the only one who thinks Reid has gotten some muscle over the years and he’s not just a stick anymore.

I think I’m gonna be using my AO3 to post some stuff no one’s ever seen and such. Like, HxR and everything and… yeah. Time to move on from FFN, I do believe.

To anyone who finds it acceptable to verbally chastise, threaten, berate, bash, mock and essentially ABUSE another person, especially your family or friends, in attempts to get a point across, you are severely misguided and shame on you. This is wrong. Emotional attacks can cause just as much pain as physical ones, and like them as well, can leave deep, ugly scars. These wounds never fade, and can reopen time and time again. Tough love may work for some, but it is not right for everybody. On top of proving to be incredibly ineffective, this kind of approach can turn people into empty shells and from happy children to broken adults. It is no accident that many people turn out to be screwed up emotionally and mentally and turn to things like drugs, alcohol, crime, sex, rage, eating disorders, self harm, and even worse things like rape and murder to ease their pain. It is unfortunately true that some people are lost souls and cannot be saved. However, there are many that can be. Always be kind to people you meet. You don’t know the inner turmoil they face, what battles they are fighting and what kind of outlet they have for it. Words can affect people in more ways than any of us could ever know, and although they may not even show it, we would never be able to perceive the anguish that they feel. A kind word can make a person feel great for a moment, but a cruel word can echo in their minds forever.

To those of you facing such things, there is always help for you. And remember, you always have the right to defend yourself and take charge of your life. Never let anyone take that away from you.
